Roles

This is a list of all the roles in the game. No two players will have the same role, but not all roles will be used in every game.

Doctor

town/protective no attack unprotected

The Doctor can pick someone to heal each night, which gives them invincibility status for that night. The Doctor can only pick themselves twice in the game.

Bodyguard

town/protective basic attack protected

The Bodyguard can visit one person each night to protect them. Anyone attacking the person you visit will attack you instead, and you will also attack them. This only affects visitors who attack your target, not for example investigative visitors or the Blackmailer. From the perspective of a Tracker or Lookout, both you and the attacker are seen to visit your target, and no-one else.

Sherrif

town/investigative no attack unprotected

Each night, the Sherrif can pick one person, to see whether they are part of the mafia, a townie or neutral.

Lookout

town/investigative no attack unprotected

The Lookout can visit one person each night to see who else visits them. Visiting can include attacking, blackmailing, investigating, healing etc.

Tracker

town/investigative no attack unprotected

The Tracker can pick one person each night to see who they visit. Visiting can include attacking, blackmailing, investigating, healing etc.

Vigilante

town/killing unstoppable protected

The Vigilante can pick one person to kill at night, once ever during the game. If the victim was a townie, the Vigilante will commit suicide the following night (there is no way to prevent this).

Veteran

town/killing unstoppable unprotected

The Veteran can choose each night whether to go on alert or not. When on alert, the Veteran will attack anyone who visits them who has a role from the Mafia, Town/Killing or Town/Protective categories. When on alert, the Veteran also gains protected status. The Veteran can only go on alert three times during the game.

Mayor

town/other no attack unprotected

The Mayor can reveal their role at any point in the game (during the day), and this will be confirmed by the game master. Once revealed, the Mayor cannot be healed by the Doctor, but their vote counts double in execution nominations and trials. The Mayor can reveal even when blackmailed.

Jailer

town/other no attack unprotected

The Jailer can put one person in jail each night. That person will be unable to use their night abilities that night, but they will also have invincibility status.

Medium

town/other no attack unprotected

The Medium can communicate with the dead for a limited amount of time each night.

Retributionist

town/other no attack unprotected

The Retributionist can bring one person back from the dead, once during the game.

Godfather

mafia unstoppable protected

The Godfather can pick a target each night to kill. If there is a living Mafioso who is able to, the Mafioso will attack the target and the Godfather will not. However, if the Mafioso is unable to (eg. they are in jail), the Godfather will attack the target.

Mafioso

mafia basic attack unprotected

The Mafioso attacks the person who the Godfather picks each night. If the Godfather does not pick anyone, the Mafioso can choose who to attack. If the Godfather dies, the Mafioso will become the Godfather the following night.

Abductor

The Abductor can abduct one person each night, preventing them from using their abilities that night.

Blackmailer

The Blackmailer can blackmail one person each night, preventing them from speaking during the following day. A blackmailed person can speak to defend themselves when they are put on trial, but at no other time. A blackmailed person can still vote in execution nominations and trials.

Consigliere

The Consigliere can discover one person's exact role each night. The person will be told that they have been investigated by the Consigliere.

Executioner

neutral no attack protected

The Executioner is given a random target at the start of the game, who will not be the Mayor, Godfather or Jester. The Executioner's aim is to get their target executed during the day. They win with either team as long as their target is executed, even if they themselves die.

Jester

neutral no attack protected

The Jester's aim is to be executed during the day. They win with either team as long as they are executed.
